It's a shame, because it tarnishes the faith people have in their priests. That will cause them to, perhaps, donate less money. That would lead to a lower standard of living for the local Bishops, who have become accustomed to fine furniture, oriental rugs and well-polished hardwood floors in their houses. Worse, the Vatican might have to begin instituting austerity in Rome.

Those awful boys! It's all their faults for tempting the priests so.
