49ers win when they run a lot. So, that was targeted. 49ers had to play a rookie on pass defense. So he was targeted.
That's asking a lot from a rookie. Front office "dropped the ball" here.
As for the defective play calling, and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, Kyle has lost two superbowls with the clock winding down, play calling, and now an NFC title match. At least, he's consistent.
He's a great coach, for 7/8 of the game.
The Raiders haven't hired a head coach yet. Trade Kyle? They're wheeler-dealers. Got Gruden, traded Gruden, Got Gruden back, canned Gruden ... I'd trade for some draft picks.
That said, Rams won the Eddie DeBartolo way. Loads of talent.
