3. Caldwell's firing in Detroit is very reminiscent of Flores' firing.

Both were let go after two winning seasons. During the Dolphins' seven-game winning streak Flores was being mentioned as a coach-of-the-year candidate. He won eight of the last nine games and beat New England twice, just yesterday in fact.

On the morning sports talk shows many commentators are saying this is a mistake.

One other thing Flores has in common with Caldwell, both are Black men who had some success but weren't given the time by the 'ol boys owners' club, as many white coaches have been given, to finish the job. You probably should take that into consideration. Flores turned that program around after years of losing seasons.
