Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak reportedly an NFL head coach candidate [View all]

The Atlanta Falcons have requested an interview with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak for their vacant head coaching position, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on social media Monday.

Kubiak, who’s in his first season leading Seattle’s offense, is eligible to participate in virtual interviews with teams this week since the Seahawks earned a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Falcons will become eligible to interview him on Wednesday.

Pelissero reported the Falcons have also requested an interview with Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.

Atlanta fired second-year head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot on Sunday following an 8-9 campaign. The Falcons went 16-18 in two seasons under Morris.
