I did find that the Hall of Fame is much more exclusive than I thought. 342 Hall of Famers, only 270 of them were players. The rest were managers and execs. So, 2-3 players per year make the cut.

Allen was exciting to watch. As the pitcher wound up, he would often twitch his right elbow, almost an indication this might be a home run swing. He used a long bat and his swing was more powerful than most anyone. He might have been even greater if he hadn't landed in Philly.
