For White House jubilee,

The Seahawks, triumphant and proud,
Had dazzled the fans in the crowd;
Though victory grand
Brought a White House command,
They opted from pomp to unshroud.

An invite to Washington came,
A customary champion’s claim;
But rumors would say
They’d not make the way—
Tradition unmet by acclaim.

In mid-February’s chill air,
A question was floating with flair:
Would champions go
To the capital’s show?
The answer suggested, “Not there.”

So Lombardi in tow they remain,
Content with their hard-fought campaign;
While D.C. would wait
At the ceremonial gate,
The champs let convention abstain.
