Question about "The Cat Who" series; where is Moose County supposed to be? [View all]

I just started one of the books, and I was thinking if Moose County is County "400 miles north of everywhere" then
it must be in Newfoundland....or maybe Alaska?

Maybe the 400 miles is hyperbole?
