"How to Cook a Tart" by Nina Kilham The whole book could win a Bulwer-Lytton prize [View all]

Really some of the most purple prose I've encountered in 40 years.

And incredibly derivative - Think "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, Her Lover" but with an almost, but not quite, comedic twist.

Just awful. Couldn't put it down, couldn't read it without skimming.
