Could I get some fiction suggestions? [View all]

I almost never read fiction. I would like to read more, but I never know what to get. The classics are obvious, but could someone suggest some contemporary fiction if it's no trouble?

Stuff I have enjoyed in the past:

Life of Pi
The Road
