26. The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd

I finished the Lager Queen of Minnesota last week. It was a quick read and a fun palette cleanser after reading a serious book like Those Who Save Us.

I’m enjoying The Invention of Wings. It’s about a young woman who to her dismay is gifted with a slave by her parents for her birthday.

However, it may take me some time to finish it. We have to make a 3 day run to Gainesville next week. And I’m deep into a new project. I’m buying furniture for a reading nook out in our Florida Room/sunroom. Mostly glassed in. It overlooks our backyard with a small lake and old growth pines with low hanging branches. It’s great when it rains, watching a thick fog rolling in or enjoying hummingbirds at their feeders. The best thing is I can access it from our bedroom for the nights I can’t sleep. I’m really excited to have my own little area to relax, read and nap 💤.
