22. Barbara Kingsolver's, DEMON COPPERHEAD. I have read most of Barbara

Kingsolver's work and have followed her progress from the early days of The Bean Trees. Most of her readers seem to agree that Poisonwood Bible is her best work, although it is not among my favorites. The Lacuna was my favorite until this one. Her re-imagining of Charles Dickens' David Copperfield with the setting in 21st Century Appalachia is brilliant.
