1. I couldn't quite put my finger on why I wouldn't want to go to England

For so long until I remembered that my grandfather absolutely loathed the English being the son of Irish immigrants. I mean loathed.

It took me a while to put it away personally but it is quite interesting how we learn hatred. I’ve seen it learned intergenerational in other ways. The US has certainly done its share of harm, not least where my grand folks landed.

You do you but it doesn’t serve me. Figured that out when I met an English person. She had nothing to do with any of it. I wish it wasn’t such a compelling emotion. But here we are.
