The Trump Arch - and Stone Mountain GA [View all]

Rambling thoughts and memories of almost two decades at DU.
A few years ago discussions about the *value* of Stone Mountain as art caused some distress for Black American members at DU - including myself. The arguments encountered were heavily focused on the three sculptors work, and its value as a piece of art.
No amount of information provided as to why in the 1950's the United Daughters of the Confederacy pushed for its completion to thumb its nose at the Civil Rights Movement could move the needle.
With the Compromise of 1877 rising among the souls of Black Americans who descend from Enslaved Black Americans and Jim Crow as the key point that the supposed Promise of America was denied us - we now have to contend with the risen CSA's Leader's monument. The Arch.
2029 needs to be the beginning of a major reckoning of the evil inflicted on our ancestors who survived the horrors of Jim Crow THROUGHOUT this country. That means no conciliatory obnoxious arguments about art.
If it is completed sooner rather than later, we must demand its destruction by the American Government. We cannot be forced to eat another shit sandwich so that white Liberals, Progressives and Leftists can be comfortable at the family "BBQ". Anything built by these traitors needs to be destroyed.
We still have to live with a sculpture in GA of evil, filthy, racist traitors who should have been publicly hanged, and their descendants prevented from serving in the US military, holding office, or working in any level of government for 100 years . . .
Our 'Allies' from the political spectrum of Obama to the extreme far left need to give us this win.
If they don't want us moving right and taking over a broken Republican Party (our historical home)they are going to have to be uncomfortable in their family and social circles that are Magapubs who won't like The Reckoning.
They need to make us believe what they say . . . because we see what they do.
One more step - I'm perfectly aok with tearing down the Ballroom and the Kennedy Center and the Country Club Patio and putting them back to what they were. IDGAF about the cost. That's Status Quo Thinking.
