If Jews (for example) are heavily involved in banking (or whatever industry) it might have a lot to with certain trades and occupations that were denied to Jewish populations. It gave rise to the value that Jews seem to give to education, especially higher education, that seems to be missing in say, the MAGA crowd.

If Roma seem to be a people that were always moving and dealt in trades like pot repair and knife sharpening or horse trading, or even fortune telling, it had to do with laws and community pressure to keep Roma from settling and compelled Rom to taking up trades that were conducive to eternal wandering as internal refugees who could face pogroms at any time.

We Christian westerners author the causes to justify our own racism and bigotry.
