I was at Harmony Church, Fort Benning, for basic training in 1966, May - July. Hotter than the hinges of hell! I don't recall that we celebrated the Army's birthday, but to tell the truth, there's a lot I don't remember about those eight weeks...mostly exhaustion and terror of flunking out of basic and having to do the same thing all over again (I didn't, thank God).

Happy birthday right back atcha, and enjoy your SOS. I always secretly liked it.
