In the last decade who has spoken publicly about the folly of our military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq and it will be the first I've seen. Those who disagree are shown the door. At the highest levels, all we have are careerists who must kiss the ass above in order to further their careers. As we said in Iraq - Command kills. For those who don't get it, command staff will issue orders that will get you killed, stupid orders that make no sense.
