9. I can't find an 18th Infantry Division

There is an 18th Infantry Regiment. The 18th Infantry Regiment currently exists with one active battalion under the U.S. Army Regimental System and has no regimental headquarters, home duty station is Ft Riley Kansas.

I served from 1977 - 1991, 101st Airborne Ft Campbell Kentucky, 11th Signal Bde Ft Huachuca Arizona, MFO Sinai Egypt, 4th Infantry Ft Carson Colorado, 25th Infantry Schofield Barracks Hawaii.

OPCON, operational control, a joint doctrinal term in the United States Army.
