Food, shelter, medicine are in jeopardy.

Yes we will be looking for jobs, anything we can get.

Some new neighbors moved in last year from a country with a good safety net for the elderly.

They were puzzled why they saw so many old people working in the stores, etc.
They asked me if old people in the US get bored and want something to do.

I explained our system to them.
