Stephen Colbert (The Late Show With Stephen Colbert) was presented with the Walter Bernstein Award for willingness to confront social injustice in the face of adversity by Robert Smigel (Triumph the Insult Comic Dog) at the 2026 Writers Guild Awards New York Ceremony.
The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding writing in film, television, streaming, news (broadcast and digital), radio/audio, and promotional categories.
The 2026 Writers Guild Awards (78th Annual) were held on Sunday, March 8 at New York’s Edison Ballroom.
