although I didn't hear when he asked him to clarify., so I don't know the exact words, what I can guess he was asking Trump was, are you sure you want to say this?..Trump could have taken some back, but at that moment he doubled down.

Therefore, by making it clear, that that is exactly what Trump wanted to say, it made Trump's comment even more important. Someone in another thread, Wallace was trying to help Trump, but I don't know. What is important, is he said it, and Trump was sure that is what he wanted to say. Trump had no idea of the reaction across the nation, but that does not matter. Trump stood by it, and if there was anything remaining of him, at that point, he destroyed himself. But, even if he looses by 10,000,000, some of his supporters will still say the election is, "rigged."
