But in Columbus there is something better than a license. A deterrent for when there is something more dangerous being delivered by drones.

Alex Morrow is an optical researcher and Dan Stamm is a mechanical and systems engineer. Together, the two created the “Drone Defender”.

The Drone Defender looks like a bazooka, but it doesn’t shoot the drone, rather it disables the link between the drone and the pilot.

But because the Drone Defender also disrupts the highly regulated electromagnetic spectrum, that includes cell phone and Wi-Fi signals, the FCC does not allow testing or demonstrations.

Could this could be used or modified to work against so called 'smart guns'?

Discuss.
