A key feature of Internet discourse is that anyone can claim nearly anything they want with no accountability. For example, many gun nutters claim military experience, as did many of the nutters who occupied Malheur with Ammon and the Ammosexuals. Many times such people are lying, or they grossly inflate honorable behind-the-lines experience to include ferocious combat they never saw. It's a macho posturing thing and most actual combat vets do NOT go around bragging about what they've seen. In fact many refuse to ever talk about it at all except with people who were there.

So I could tell you my stories and you could decide whether to believe me entirely based on whether you agreed with me politically.

A close friend of mine was just shot to death, for example, which has me spitting mad at gun nuttery. Do you believe me? It happens to be true.

As I sometimes say in gun arguments I am no stranger to guns. Which is why I think most gun nutters are lying about their own levels of experience or confusing playing Call of Duty with reality. It's all mostly masculine fantasy compensation.
