should Americans reward those right wingers that display a willingness to renounce the most extreme portions of the right wing culture war?
I don't think this is enough- having a minimum level of liberties allowed for the "other" does not make Huntsman progressive or reasonable- it's just proof that republicans understand the reasons for the RNC's electoral failure. The Teabaggers have no interest in admitting that homophobia is destructive and unAmerican. Huntsman will not be successful in the republican party until he re-assures the base that he didn't REALLY mean this.
