1. Amazing photos. He hid the photos & recovered them when WW2 was over.

Similar to the recent 2012? photos of thousands, about 100,000? Syrian corpses of people the Assad government slaughtered, tortured to death and then made photos of every corpse as a record.

The photographer smuggled out thumb drives, he escaped as a refugee and turned the photos in to USA government.

Currently the photos are housed in the National Holocaust museum. Perhaps someday there will be a war crimes trial for Assad and his ally Russia.
