Woke up to see Merlin's head on my pillow, just sweetly staring at me waking up. It was a brief, peaceful moment [View all]
He then let me know, in NO uncertain terms, that it was time for breakfast. OK, Got it.
After dishing out the food, I crawled back in to bed. That respite was briefer than needed. Once again I became the target of a ferocious little pouncing panther. I ended up pulling the covers over my head with just a very small opening for fresh air. Well, he discovered it and made entry. Fortunately I still have pretty fast reflexes. That was it. I got up.
Trouble is, I think he paid close attention to the morning routine and he wants the first stuff done much more expeditiously. Feed them, get less 'return to bed' time, get up, dressed, feed the outdoor fur babies and then feed myself. THAT'S what he's waiting for. He mesmerizes me in to scrambling an egg so that he can enjoy even MORE food.
The boys will be in 7th Heaven, tonight, since almost everyone in my family have their own little fur babies. Merlin is so audaciously cute that few will be able to resist feeding him. AND since all are or have been fur baby parents, they know what the furry kids can and shouldn't eat.
My hope is that Merlin is so worn out by all of the attention, he will do a lot of napping on Christmas Day. That's my personal goal - a house full of napping kid cats and their napping kid cat mom.
