3. Homemade flea traps are a flat shallow dish with a 'nite light' suspended above.

A little water and dish soap in the dish, and the fleas are attracted to the light, jump toward it, land in the soapy water and they can't get out. It's good to have those because you can tell when the fleas are gone and you stop trapping new ones. We had to use those because any kind of pesticide could kill the Sun Conure Parrot if it got to him.
