But PE also behind pet insurance and pet pharm. I think they purposefully boost vet costs to enable the creation of pet insurance which wasn’t even a thing ten years ago. And my monthly flea/tick plus heartworm meds are now $50/month per dog, that’s $100/month for my lil pack.

Not sure how legislation will work tho. My vet family of 25 years became close friends of mine, they were the most incredible and empathetic folks I knew and built an amazing practice including a surgical center and repro. But they both hit their sixties and none of their kids had any interest in the business and they sold the practice to PE. They told me the PE payout was 4x vs non-PE offers.
