18. I am so, so sorry

There are no words to make this better. We've been rescuing cats for 31 years and it never gets any easier.

Love and light to you today, rampartd. May her memory become a treasure once the pain is less sharp (I won't say goes away, because it never does). Be gentle with yourself.
