Vet visit for Fuzzy [View all]

Fuzzy is our Huscadore (Husky/Lab mix). He is 13. Today we took him in for yearly shots and heart worm check. He has a lot of lumps which are generally fatty tissue and aren’t a problem. The nice lady vet listened to his heart and lungs for longer than usual. She then asked if she could take some x-rays.

It turns out she heard a heart murmur. The x-rays showed an enlarged heart. Fuzzy hasn’t been coughing but he will pant more than he used to. There were also some areas on his lower lungs that might indicate some fluid from bronchitis or pneumonia even though he hasn’t been coughing. He does snore a fair amount. The vet said that this is common for large dogs. It is not time for good-by yet but we were saddened by the news. Fuzzy is getting a diuretic for two weeks so they can get a better view of his lungs. He still seems as happy as ever.

Kindly send some good vibes his way.
