by the most important person in my life. I did in fact return. Always will. But as a parent it is a scary thing to do. My almost 17 year old wants to spend the summer with the grandparents. I know she is in good hands. I know she will learn and grow. I know it is probably best for her. But I want to scream..."No, stay home. What about the time we would talk in the garden? What about the late night conversations shared over a flaming fire? What about a light lunch and tea spent in silence together? What about my hugs?"

Empty nest...sigh...I can relate.
