Seeds You've Started [View all]

Tell about the seeds you've started.

Back on Febr. 10, I started a large tray of peppers. Unfortunately I did not put them on my warming seed mat because I was using it to keep pipes from freezing. (In retrospect, I would have been better off using it on the peppers--didn't really need it for the pipes.)

I put the mat under the peppers about a week ago and they have finally sprouted. They absolutely need that warmth. In fact, here's a temperature guideline for seeds:

You can find other germination degree tables if your seeds aren't on this one. I used the search term germination temperature seeds.

Today (3/6) it's cold out so I'm devoting the rest of the day to planting seeds in one-inch cubes, 280 to a tray. I hope to do about four of them, or around 1100 more seeds in addition to the 280 pepper plants.

In addition, I bought another warming mat, so I'm good to go!
