6. I tried adding the spaghetti noodles to a nice marinara sauce while it was cooking - once.

Someone recommended cooking the noodles along with the sauce.

It came out like chef boyardee - horrible. I think that rinse of the noodles after they are al dente gets rid of all the gluten in the boiling water (or sauce).

Just like porridge. Used to be the common people cooked all their food in one pot - meat, potatoes, vegetables, etc. The haut cuisine French introduced having the ingredients cooked separately and savored, each one for its unique flavor and texture.
