4. Why have you given yourself such a short period of time to lose that much weight?

I notice that some of the other comments has similar (albeit veiled) sentiments. I guess they feel it's supportive but it is a common tendency to be very extreme with one's attempts at self-improvement. A pound a week is considered rather ambitious (which would only lead to a 12-pound loss in your time frame) and I feel that being conservative in this case is the best policy. Why? Because it's more do-able. Plateaus are very common and then you begin to lose again but in the interim there may be a bit of discouragement if the goal is not reached in the time period.
