9. Yes. When I hear or read statements like you just wrote, I want to say something nice like...

"I understand" or "I feel your pain" but (of course) you are fully aware that while I may try to understand and also try to feel your pain, I can't. I haven't had the experience of the feelings that a lot of women have. What I CAN do is listen and offer what little support that's possible.
Actually, now I think of it, this might approach the realization of the subject.
I had kidney stones last year. Through impossible odds (I was in the Australian outback.. alone) the pain grabbed me like it came from Hell's Fury. You know when people say.."Damn, just shoot me" ? I would have in a heartbeat, no problem. For 2 days I screamed and cried with pain. 54 hours of horrible, disgusting torture. (I learned that they had broken up into needle-like things) I was going to throw myself off of a small cliff but since it was only 30 feet high, I was afraid I'd live.

Anyway. Now that I've told you that story. (it's true) Do you feel exactly what I felt? No, of course not. I'm damn glad you don't!
But you did read it and feel something and all that.
That's how I feel. I'm sorry that I can't feel exactly like women feel but at the same time, I admire you for taking so much crap for so long. It must truly suck sometimes...but some of us really do care.
