Asking questions is critically important to dealing with these patterns.
So, by asking the questions you are on the right track.

There are lots of questions to ask...

Whether that pattern distresses you, and how it may interfere with your life,
whether or not you find yourself unable to break that pattern despite your best efforts, etc,
are indeed questions critical to your sustaining a personally fulfilling life experience, whether that is inside
the pattern you noticed or outside of that pattern.

IMO, the answers you desire can't come from polling for popular opinion.
These questions are best explored and answered by you with some professional assistance.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) websites often list affiliate groups and clinics. Visiting the NAMI
website for your State can help you find a person with the expertise to help you.

You aren't alone in your feelings. Others have similar experience
and there are a handful of websites dedicated to supporting those who experience narcissistic abuse.
You may begin locating them by google-ing a phrase that includes keywords "narcissitic abuse and support"
