10. Getting it caught early is omportant

Especially if there's a strong family history. My PSA started creeping up over 4.0, and the GP referred me to a Urologist. He was originally going to watch the levels, but then i mentioned that I'd lost an uncle to it. He immediately scheduled a biopsy. Out of the 12 samples, 4 were positive and 5 were pre-cancerous.

Wound up at a clinic in Phoenix for radiation therapy, 5 days a week for 9 weeks. That was 6 years ago.

PSA has been 0.2 and 0.1 for the last 3 years.

Talking with a cousin a couple years ago (his daughter), he had a VERY bad time of it toward the end.
