11. Please, Do not give up. If Recovery From Addiction was "easy" then it would be "easy"

...Recovery is not easy...Please hang in there. We need to keep going. Here is a "political example" In 72 Democrats lost by tremendous margin to that crook Nixon. McGovern did not have a good campaign, and I worked in that one.
... By the next election, 4 years later, 76, Nixon was gone, he resigned, and we had a Democrat in the White House, Jimmy Carter. We do not give up. Please do not give up this battle with addiction. Recovery is not easy. Beating an addiction is one of the hardest activities a person can do. All I can say after more than 35 years in recovery, is that it is not easy. And yes, I have had relapses too. We try to take it "One Day at A Time" or "One Minute at a Time." We do not give up.. (I started in Overeaters Anonymous, and now go to AA as well as other 12 step programs)
