I've heard Costner passionately justify the slowness and length of Horizons. For whatever reason, the westward migration and the resulting conflict between Europeans and Native Americans is a topic he is obsessed with, and that is the story he keeps telling ("Dances with Wolves," "Open Range&quot . I do intend to see Horizons, mostly because of Costner's belief in the project. A lot of times with artists, they profess to care about a project but you can tell that it is not sincere. But with Kevin Costner it is sincere. That doesn't mean Horizons will be successful, and the reviews demonstrate that for many it is not. (It is worth remembering that Kevin Costner was passionate about "Waterworld," a blazing disaster in every sense)

A big question is will he be able to find financing for the rest of the project.
