they might have because they are becoming independent through the workplace, could it?

Moreover, as a gay man, I have had my fair share of experiences with men (both gay and straight, actually) who are powerful in the workplace but want to be submissive in bed, at least some of the time. I think this, as it would with women, is more of a search for balance than it is reverting to some primordial predisposition.
