My daughter #3 of 4 girls is 40 now and fine. But only due to my persistence. She was a crazy active baby. One day with 6 weeks to go, I realized I hadn’t felt anything all day. Most unusual & finished a day of teaching and went to doc. He was the on-call one. Seemed quite irritated with my concern, pushed, pushed, pushed on my stomach until finally said, There, it’s moving. Made me feel very foolish. Next day the same. I said, Something is wrong. Went in and saw my usual doc. Monitoring all indicated problems with baby and did emergency C-section. I just remember saying, Why isn’t she crying? Just like this post, they feared she would inhale meconium so didn’t let her cry. But she had already inhaled some. She was in ICU for 11 days and such a sick baby. She was hooked up just like this little one. I think she was baptized at least twice since they didn’t think she would make it.
i think soon after this I started hearing about Count the Kicks! When in doubt, persist!
