There is an old book by an early psychoanalist, "The Mass Psychology of Fascism", about the rise of that in Europe after WW1. The GOP brought several hundred thousand German and Nazi functionaries to rebuild the Republican party. The effects of this large and heavily funded conservative investment has destroyed the middle class in America. This stupid and dangerous panic about Gays and Trans citizens is part of this collective GOP psychosis.
