The Russian government claimed that one of Putin's palaces on Lake Valdai was attacked by drones. Ukraine has denied responsibility for any attack. Furthermore, there is no evidence that an attack occurred and that a false report was made as an effort to garner sympathy in peace negotiations.

Recently, Simon Whistler made a video discussing Putin's palaces. Most of the palaces are in the more temperate region of the country near the Black Sea. At the 23:00 mark in the video, the discussion turns towards the palace on Lake Valdai that was allegedly attacked.
