I don't know what you call this stage of veganism, but I've definitely reached it. [View all]

My daughter and I were shopping today and one of the stores had flyers in the window. One of the flyers said, "Chicken Sale For Veterans!" And I was taken aback. I said, "That's not a very good fundraiser. How many people can take chickens? You have to have room in your backyard. You'd have to build a winter suitable shelter. And is it even legal to keep chickens in the city?"

My daughter looked at me with bemusement, and said gently, "Mom, they're selling cooked chickens."

"Oh. Well, yes. Of course they are. I can't believe that didn't even occur to me."

So what level of veganism is this? When a sign that says Chicken Sale equals pet chickens?
