2. At least some of the map in this country is misleading.

You'd think you can take a train between Albuquerque and Denver, but you can't. You can take a train between Albuquerque and Raton, NM, then a bus to Denver. Or, train all the way via either Los Angeles or Chicago.

There is remarkably little north-south train service, other than on the east and west coasts, and a central line from Chicago to New Orleans. Sigh. I would love to take the train more often, but the lack of service is shocking.
