I can't stand it. Two districts where I sub-teach have no Libraries. [View all]

Not one shelf.

And they're both preschool to Eighth Grade.

Sure, there are public libraries in both towns. But that's not the point.

They used to have a period for all classes for a librarian to introduce the students to books they might want to take out and read at home, to learn how to find books on the shelves, what kind of books were stocked.

It's the equivalent of removing art and music programs. It's removing literature, history, science, learning to read, etc.
