Blast from the past: Excellent JK speech on the economy -- delivered in Lynn, MA, in 2008 [View all]

Hi Everybody

Sorry I've been gone so long -- family and life issues got overwhelming, but now I'm determined to participate more. Recently I've been poking around in the archives at JKMediaSource. In the summer of 2008, JK made so many appearances that I was drowning in videotape and we were putting stuff up non-stop, to the point that I bet there were a lot of really good speeches and appearances he made that barely got seen because there was so much going on. Today I was re-watching this excellent speech he gave on the economic crisis (I put it on my iPod, which makes it easier to find time to watch), and I was enjoying it so much -- and found it still so relevant today -- that I thought I'd just point it out.

About the first 7 or 8 minutes he's just thanking everybody and all that, but once it gets going, it's very good -- clear, impassioned, and interesting. He builds to a heartfelt conclusion, and I remember I was having kittens as I was watching the tape counter count down to the end of the tape and it was a race to see whether his last sentence would end before the tape ran out. As you can see if you watch the video, the tape ran out about 2 seconds after he stopped speaking.

Enjoy!
