I think that, when there are not enough real issues to occupy them (actually, even when they are) , the Beltway crowd (especially the Media segment of that crowd) just makes stuff up out of boredom, to keep the juices flowing and TV ratings up. They and their absurd speculations (Hillary or Joe Biden running for president in 2016, Hillary for VP in 2012, the perennial SoS s__), delivered with biblical-type certainty, drive me nuts.
