He died of alcohol, cigarettes and other excesses years ago, but he was a great humor writer for the Atlanta paper, with his favorite topic being how weird the South is.

He explained that ‘nekkid’ was not just a Southern mispronunciation, as follows:

Naked means you ain’t got no clothes on. Nekkid means you ain’t got no clothes on and you’re getting ready to do the nasty.
