We had one in NH a couple of years ago. And if you Google search rogue cows you find other stories.

I don't know, it seems to me to be a dash for freedom. That said, I don't think cows are made for life in the wild, so I'm not sure they're better off. But maybe any freedom is better than the rodeo or being raised for slaughter.
