In the mid-1980s, a desperate, sleep deprived new dad invented a device that would attach to a crib to simulate the vibrations of a car at 50 mph. I can't remember the name of it, but it sold quite well. Some parents paid for overnight shipping.

I used to tell parents about it at the peds office where I was working at the time.
